Kenya – Best of the Mara Migration Safari II 2018
14 Sep 2018 to 20 Sep 2018
The annual Wildebeest Migration is one of the most awe-inspiring wildlife spectacles on the planet. An estimated 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebra are engaged in a permanent journey between the Serengeti and the Maasai Mara as they are driven by rainfall and its effect on the regions grasses. The herds constant search for nutritious grass leads them to navigate numerous obstacles including treacherous river crossings where hulking and primeval-looking crocodiles dwell in the water’s depth when not basking in the sun, and the skin-piercing claws and teeth of hungry predators which hunt their luckless victims. ORYX’s Best of the Mara Migration Photo Tour 2018 is designed to offer you the best opportunities to photograph the massive herds of migratory wildebeest. The undulating landscape, savanna woodlands and rich riparian habitats provide a theatrical setting for our photography, not to mention the soul-soothing sunsets.
Join ORYX Photographic Tour Leader and current Botswana Wildlife Photographer of the Year winner, Kirsten Frost, as we explore the wonders of the Mara. His easy nature, patients and willingness to share his knowledge, both creatively and technically, makes for valuable photographic tutorship and an unforgettable safari experience.
